Schools Day 2015

Longford Estates are proud of our association with the Countryside Trust. On Wednesday 24 June we were delighted to welcome seven local schools to experience rural skills and the work that is undertaken on our thriving Estate. The children were able to gain an insight into the following:

  • Modern farm machinery with Duncan More
  • Beef Cattle with Fiona Murley
  • Sheep husbandry and Sheering with Jim Webb and Lucy Pleydell-Bouverie
  • Ferret demonstration with Pete Orchard and Edward Gray
  • Woodland Management with David Streeter and Clayton Lane
  • Fish Farming with Dan Borras
  • Game Rearing and Deer Stalking with James Morgan and Peter Lucas
  • Dairy Farming with Simon Martin
  • Gate making and plumbing with Marcus Hall, Philip Lane and Ade Noyce

The children had a wonderful educational and informative day within the grounds of Longford Park.
